Instructions

Cut out two straps in navy denim and two straps in pale blue denim 70cm x 6cm.

Iron the Bondaweb onto the fabrics for the sail boats. Trace around the appliqué shapes and cut them out.

Place the sail boats in position on the navy denim. Peel off the backing and iron.
TIP: Use a pin to loosen the paper backing in the centre of a shape and gently tear before peeling the backing away. This will avoid fraying the edges of the shape.

Stitch the shapes in position using a zig zag stitch.

Place a navy strap on top of a pale blue strap, right sides together and machine stitch both sides. Turn the strap inside out and top stitch.

Place the two pale blue denim pieces right sides together and stitch the side seams and base seam. Repeat the process with the navy denim and press the seams open.

At each corner of each bag place the base seam over the side seam and stitch.

Find the centre of the top of the bag and place the straps either side of the centre, 18cm apart. Stitch the straps to the navy denim bag.

Turn under 1cm at the top edge of the navy bag and 1cm at the top edge of the pale blue bag. Place the top edges of each bag together and pin in place.

Stitch the top edges together with 2 rows of stitching.
