Sock Pincushion

How to turn a sock into a pin cushion

Upcycle those odd socks into cute pincushions for your and your friends.

Materials needed:

  • 1 x sock
  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Toy stuffing
  • Pen
  • White and black felt

Step 1.

Take the sock and turn it inside out and fold the heel part flat down, draw lines on the top area of the sock as shown.

Step 2.

Sew along the lines that have been drawn and this will create the ears. Cut away the excess material being careful not to cut the stitching.

Step 3.

Cut a small hole from the bottom part of the toe end and turn inside out.

Step 4.

This is the fun part... stuffing the Blob. Start with the ears first and then roll a nice sized ball of stuffing into the body part of the Blob. Leave about a 1cm edge at the bottom of the toe line, with a needle and thread knot the end and sew straight stitch all around the edge and pull all in together. Tie off securely.

Step 5.

With the felt make two large white circles and two smaller black circles and then sew these on to the Blob to give him eyes, and create some personality.  Now put him on your sewing table and fill him with pins.
