New online craft store launches

Backstitch, found at, was launched to cater for the growing new breed of young, enthusiastic, trend conscious sewers.  Backstitch stock a great range of patterned fabricsFabrics, plain fabrics, and sewing patterns. The current selection of patterned fabrics includes favorite designers such as Kaffe Fassett, Anna Maria Horner and Amy Butler, and also introduces a new designer, Lily Keziah. The plain fabric range is currently a spectrum of cottons which are both versatile and great value for money. Fabrics can be bought by the metre or in bundles from the cocktail collection!

Patterns include designs from Sew Liberated, Oliver + S, Anna Maria Horner, Bettsy Kingston and the ‘designer of the moment' Colette. Projects are clothes for women and children as well as accessories and homewares.

In addition to being a shop, the Backstitch website features regular articles which, in tandem with their blog, at, share sewing inspiration, tutorials, and reviPatternews. Right now you can download a stylish set of alphabet transfers to embellish your projects with embroidered letters.

Going forward Backstitch will be expanding its stock, focusing on value and versatility within the plain collection and modish vibrancy within the patterned range. The shop will also be expanding into ‘sew a complete project' kits and haberdashery.
