The Sewing Directory Privacy Policy 

This privacy policy details how we deal with your personal data.  We take your privacy seriously and will only use your date for our own internal purposes.  Your information will not be passed onto a third party company unless you have won a prize which is being shipped out direct by the prize giving company.   In those instances we have to pass your name and address onto them as they ship prizes direct.  

Information collected:

As per the terms and conditions any information that you have put on your listing will be published on the site and can be viewed by anyone using the site at any time.   Your name, address, phone number and e-mail address (if not part of the public listing) will be securely stored and only accessible only by employee's of The Sewing Directory.  Payments are processed through PayPal and your account details/credit card details are not stored on our systems.   If you contact us, by post, phone or e-mail a record of that contact may be kept. 

Competitions:

For the majority of competitions your entries come direct to us and such data will be handled in accordance with this privacy policy.  On some occasions the entries will go directly to the company providing the prize, this will be indicated and we ask prize givers to include an opt out of marketing clause.   Some competitions require the entries to be sent direct to the prize giving company, you will be able to tell this from the e-mail address given for entries, in that instance they will have all the information you put on your entry.  Often our competitions are used for market research for the prize giving companies in that instance your response is given anonomously to them.

How the information will be used:

Your contact details may be used for marketing purposes by The Sewing Directory but we will not pass them onto any third party company for marketing.   We may also use your details for research purposes and customer service purposes.  All data is stored securely and deleted when no longer needed. 

Consent to the Privacy Policy:

By listing on the site you are agreeing to the privacy policy. 

Changes to the Privacy Policy:

Any changes to the privacy policy will be added here, clearly indicated as an amendment to the original policy.
