New sewing courses from SLIK Stitches

Fun With Fabric

SLIKStitches havDragon appliquee just started up Fun with fabric courses in 4 different locations around Chertsey and Windsor.  These groups vary from most sewing classes in that they are lead by the sewing desires of the group; Benta from SLIKStitches teaches them what they want to learn, rather than following a standard plan for all groups.

The locations of the groups and a little information about each can be found below:

Chertsey Museum – This group is run monthly on the afternoon of the 3rd Friday of the month.   It is a very capable group who have done framed appliqué pictures, smocking and foundation piecing amongst other projects, they are currently working on stencilling on fabric.SLIK Stitches sewing class

Windsor Baptist Church – This group is also runs monthly on the morning of the third Saturday of each month.   This group has a younger membership; some are learning new skills whilst others have teamed up to make a charity quilt.

St Michaels Church – This group is held the third Saturday of each month in the afternoon.  For this session people tend to bring and work on their own projects, there is no charge for this group.  People tend to do a range of crafts here sewing, patchwork, knitting, crochet etc.

Broom Farm Army Community Centre – This group is run with the local authority, every week on a Monday afternoon.  People tend to bring their own projects to work on and then learn new techniques together.   It costs £37.50 for 5 weeks.

All the projects in the different groups are done by hand but if people want to bring their machine along and learn how to use it they can.  To find out more about all of the courses about here:  www.funwithfabricuk.blogspot.com/
