Christmas Creativity Competition
Prizes: 
1st Prize - Janome DXL 603 worth £400 plus the winning tutorial will be published in Cloth Magazine
2nd Prize - £100 Voucher for Abakhan Fabrics, Hobby and Home
3rd Prize - £50 Search Press voucher

Brief:
Submit a unique tutorial or pattern for making something related to Christmas whether it is a Christmas decoration, stocking, advent calendar or something that could be given as a Christmas present. By unique we mean the tutorial must not be copied (in part or it's entireity) from somewhere else. It can be an idea that has been done before ie. a stocking, so long as you have written the tutorial yourself and it has been made in your own style, not a blatent copy of someone elses design.
Each tutorial must consist of clear written instructions, diagrams where necessary, patterns if needed and photographs. There must be some form of visual guide as well as the written instructions plus a photo of the finished product. The tutorial must be something you have come up with yourself and have not seen in a book/magazine or on the internet. 
The prize winning tutorials and others that we like will be featured on The Sewing Directory and the winning tutorial will be published in the winter issue of Cloth magazine.
The editors of Cloth magazine - Harriet de Winton and Ros Marshall - will be assisting us with the judging of the competition.
How to enter:
Please open the entry form here and complete it to submit with your tutorial. Please send the tutorial as a Word document or a format that can be opened by Word. You can send other formats too but we need a format we can edit in case of any spelling mistakes etc. Please attach any images as separate files as well as including them in your tutorial documents. Please send all entries to Fiona@thesewingdirectory.co.uk or by post to The Sewing Directory, 44 Robert Street, Cathays, Cardiff, CF24 4PD. Please note we cannot return any photos or documents sent in by post. Receipt will be confirmed within 48 hours, if you don't receive an e-mail confirming receipt within 72 hours please re-send.
Terms and conditions: 
The winning entries will be published on the site along with some of our other favourites in the lead up to Christmas. We will link to your blog, shop or site with the article. You must sign the entry form to say you consent to us and any of the prize givers (Janome, Cloth magazine, Search Press and Abakhan) using your tutorial online or in print. By entering the prize draw, the entrant agrees to be bound by the rules and by any other requirements set here. We reserve the right to alter the text or layout of the tutorial. By entering the competition you are confirming that the tutorial is original, and not taken from any other source, and that you will be liable for any breaches of copyright.
All entries to be received by midnight Friday 15th October 2010, the winners will be announced by Monday 25th of October. The decision of the judges is final. You may submit more than one entry but prizes are limited to 1 per person. Entries from all countries welcome but we reserve the right to substitute the prize for one that can be more sent overseas. Some of the prize givers do not offer overseas shipping and the cost of shipping the sewing machine would be prohibitive. We cannot guarantee the alternative prize will be of equivalent value.
